OMCC Disability Services

The Disability Services Office at Ohio Medical Career College provides reasonable accommodations so that qualified students with documented disabilities have an equal opportunity to participate in all of programs, activities, events, and services.

Students are responsible for self-disclosing their disability to the Disability Services Office and for providing documentation in order to determine eligibility. Students with disabilities should contact the Office directly and not through a representative of the student.

Academic accommodations can be provided if the adjustments are determined to be reasonable and appropriate for the student's specific disability and its impacts.

OMCC does not share information about a student's disability with faculty, staff, parents, caseworkers or other individuals without written permission from the student. Additionally, the Office cannot confirm whether or not a student is receiving services or disclose information about their accommodations. When talking with instructors, the Office discusses only the accommodations that are needed, not the disability itself.

The Office may be required to release information on a need-to-know basis in accordance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA). All user information is restricted to authorized employees. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific task, for example, an Admission Office representative, are granted access to personal information.
